TWD: Survival Instinct Gameplay Video Shambles Onto The Web

Activision and Terminal Reality have released the first proper gameplay reel for upcoming survival shooter, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.

Unlike Telltale’s award-winning serialised hit based on the same IP, Survival Instinct roots itself closer to AMC’s acclaimed TV series as opposed to Robert Kirkman’s source material.

The gameplay video confirms much of what Terminal Reality have been spouting about Survival Instinct. Running and gunning your way through hordes of walkers simply isn’t an option here; players will have to be methodical in their approach, either stealth-killing zombies or sneaking past them entirely.

Melee weapons seem to be a big focus, as does the acquisition of supplies which can be tactically distributed between the game’s cast of survivors. Set before the events of the TV show, Survival Instinct is centred around the Dixon brothers, Merle and Daryl. Despite being branded with the redneck stereotype both have become prominent favourites among fans, their absence from the original comic books no doubt granting Terminal Reality some creative leeway.

With that said the studio has had a less than stellar track record. Established in 1995, the Dallas-based developer has only two current-generation games under its belt including Ghostbusters: The Video Game and Kinect Star Wars.
